About Branch

Collaborating since 2005, Gillian Sze and Roberutsu decided to turn the creative table on you. Branch Magazine is a national online magazine devoted to exploring the rifts and overlaps of visual and literary arts while showcasing emerging and professional Canadian artists and creators. Branch features contemporary literature, art and design and aims to produce a compelling panoply of art in different media. Each issue is prompted by a particular theme and, depending on how artists interpret the subject, Branch strives to present how artistic minds may bring together a magpie's nest arranged by its clash and compatibility.

Founders / Editors

GILLIAN SZE's second book, The Anatomy of Clay was published by ECW Press in Spring 2011. Her debut poetry collection, Fish Bones (DC Books, 2009), was shortlisted for the 2009 QWF McAuslan First Book Prize. She has also collaborated with Roberutsu on three chapbooks: This is the Colour I Love You Best, A Tender Invention and Allow Me to Conjugate. www.gilliansze.com

ROBERUTSU is a multidisciplinary designer from the Canadian Prairies. Following an internship in Los Angeles with iconic artist David Lachapelle, Roberutsu continues to pursue personal artistic endeavours and collaborations with friends.www.roberutsu.com
